Decades of International Seed Export Experience
Elfland’s international seed export experience has its roots in Anderson’s Seed Co., which supplied growers, nurseries, brokers, and seed companies around the world since the 1980s.
Today, our focus is on making international ordering as straightforward as possible. We work closely with each customer to coordinate documentation, phytosanitary inspections, shipping, and export requirements, and we remain available throughout the process to answer questions and help make sure everything is prepared correctly.
We understand that importing seeds can feel complicated, especially for a first international order. Support is available in English, German, and Spanish.
Phytosanitary Certificates
Most countries require a phytosanitary certificate for seed imports. We coordinate the inspection and certification process with our San Diego County agricultural inspectors.
The inspection and phytosanitary certificate fee is $150 per shipment.
If you are unsure whether your country requires an import permit, phytosanitary certificate, or additional documentation, please contact us. We can help clarify the requirements and, when necessary, check with our agricultural inspector.
International Shipping
Depending on the destination and shipment size, we ship internationally using DHL Express, FedEx International, and USPS international service for smaller orders.
If you already work with a preferred freight forwarder, customs broker, or shipping provider, we are also happy to coordinate with them whenever possible.
Because import requirements vary by country and plant species, international orders cannot be placed directly through our online checkout. Please contact us before ordering so we can review the destination, seed varieties, quantities, shipping options, and required documentation with you.
Import Requirements
We are happy to assist with the U.S. export and phytosanitary process. Import requirements are determined by the destination country, and the buyer is ultimately responsible for confirming any import permits, restrictions, duties, taxes, customs charges, brokerage fees, or other import-related requirements and costs that may apply.
